We played the Keller-Williams holiday party on Friday. It was a complete blast. Much alcohol was had. Many people danced. Ron and I and a wonderful lady whose name escapes me for the moment jammed out to "Sister Golden Hair" in a back hallway by the bathrooms. We learned how to play Christmas songs in the set break 5 minutes before we got up in front of people and played them for real. Marissa taught Ron and I how to play "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," then grabbed a mic and knocked it right out of the park. To finish the evening off with a bang, I grinned a picket-fence grin, went "Uh-hee" and ripped the E-string right off my bass.
Thanks, everybody, for having us, and for your kind words, and for some genuine holiday cheer--a thing I of late had been thinking had to be bought. Tell ya what, campers--holiday cheer given freely is a hell of a lot more quality then the stuff you buy.
Also, we learned (at least, Chris learned) that the Dragon does not cotton to drunk people. Chris came back in after trying to start it for 5 minutes, totally defeated. "It needs the owner's touch," he said. He'd have gotten it going eventually.
Merry and happy, everyone.
